She gets up early.
She prays for everybody.
She answers the phone when someone is hurting.
She prepares the sermon, leads the meeting, checks on the ministry, encourages her team, serves her family, handles the business, shows up for the community—and somehow still feels guilty when she needs a moment to herself.
Because she’s a woman in ministry.
A woman in leadership.
A woman with a calling.
And somewhere along the way, she learned how to pour without checking whether her own cup was empty.
Maybe you know her.
Maybe… you are her.
The Hidden Struggle of Women in Ministry and Leadership

There is a unique pressure that comes with being a woman in ministry and leadership.
People see the title.
They see the strength.
They see the platform.
They see the polished smile, the Sunday outfit, the microphone, the business, the ministry, the accomplishments.
But they don’t always see the woman behind it all.
They don’t see the nights she cries because she’s tired.
They don’t see the disappointment she hasn’t processed.
They don’t see the church hurt she still carries.
They don’t see the relationship wounds that resurfaced while she was trying to help somebody else heal.
They don’t see the moments when she questions her confidence, her identity, or even whether she heard God correctly.
And they definitely don’t see how exhausting it can be to constantly be “the strong one.”
But here’s the question I want you to sit with:
Who takes care of the woman who takes care of everybody else?
Don’t answer too quickly.
Because sometimes the woman in ministry knows how to minister to everyone except herself.
She knows how to pray—but struggles to rest.
She knows how to encourage others—but doesn’t know how to encourage herself.
She knows how to recognize everybody else’s gifts—but has forgotten what makes her special.
She knows how to forgive—but hasn’t given herself permission to grieve.
She knows how to lead—but secretly wonders, “Who am I when I’m not needed?”
And that question opens another door…
When Your Calling Becomes Heavier Than Your Soul
I believe one of the greatest challenges facing women in ministry and leadership is not a lack of faith.
It’s emotional exhaustion.
It’s carrying responsibilities while carrying unresolved pain.
It’s trying to lead from a heart that desperately needs care.
It’s confusing being needed with being whole.
And sometimes we spiritualize what actually needs to be processed.
We say:
“I’m just tired.”
But maybe you’re grieving.
“I’m just in a season.”
But maybe you’re overwhelmed.
“I just need to pray more.”
But maybe your heart needs to be heard.
“I’m fine.”
But are you?
What if God isn’t asking you to carry more? What if He’s inviting you to finally put something down?
That is where my work begins.
I’m Dr. Sakinah—Your Glow Apostle of Soul Care
I’m Dr. Sakinah, Pastor, Glow Apostle of Soul Care, and Entrepreneur—also affectionately known as a Beauty Boss.
But behind all of those titles is one assignment:
I help women care for the soul behind the calling.
Through Soulfully U Soul Care, I create safe, faith-centered spaces where women can slow down, become aware of what is happening inside of them, do the heart work, heal what keeps resurfacing, and learn how to lead from a place of wholeness.
Because I believe:
Soul Care + Self Care = Self Love.
You cannot continue pouring from an empty soul and expect yourself to remain whole.
You deserve care, too.
You deserve space, too.
You deserve to heal without shame.
You deserve to become the woman God called you to be—not just the woman everybody needs you to be.
And that’s why I created The Heart Work Divine Trifecta™: Heal. Grow. Transform.
Because sometimes the issue isn’t that you don’t love God.
Sometimes you love God deeply…
but there are places in your heart that still need healing.
What If Your Next Level Requires Heart Work?
What if the reason you’re stuck isn’t because you’re lazy?
What if you’re not broken?
What if you’re not losing your mind?
What if there are emotional patterns, old wounds, limiting beliefs, identity struggles, unhealthy boundaries, disappointment, rejection, or unresolved experiences influencing the way you’re showing up today?
And what if you could finally understand them?
That’s what Heart Work is about.
It’s learning to pause.
Reflect.
Heal.
And ultimately thrive.
Not by pretending the pain never happened.
But by allowing God to meet you in the places you’ve been trying so hard to hide.
Your Heart Doesn’t Need Another Lecture. It Needs a Safe Place to Heal.
If you’ve been searching for Christian life coaching, faith-based emotional healing, soul care for women, women in ministry support, leadership coaching for women, church hurt recovery, emotional wellness, Christian self-care, or spiritual growth, I want you to know something:
You don’t have to do this alone.
I created several ways for you to begin your Heart Work.
❤️ THE HEART WORK INTENSIVE

This is a transformational coaching experience designed to help you uncover emotional patterns, process what has been buried, strengthen your identity, establish healthier boundaries, and move from surviving to thriving.
This isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about healing enough to become fully who God created you to be.
If you’re tired of repeating the same emotional cycles…
If old wounds keep resurfacing…
If you’re successful on the outside but exhausted on the inside…
This may be the Heart Work you’ve been avoiding—and the healing you’ve been praying for.
✨ JOIN THE GLOW COLLECTIVE
You don’t have to walk your healing journey by yourself.
The Glow Collective is a community for women who want sisterhood, encouragement, soul care, spiritual growth, and a place where they can be honest about what they’re carrying.

Because sometimes healing happens when you finally realize:
“I’m not the only one.”
Come sit at the table.
Come exhale.
Come grow.
Come glow.
THE HEART WORK BUNDLE

Not ready for coaching yet?
Start where you are.
The Heart Work Bundle includes the Heart Work Devotional Journal and Divine Trifecta Workbook to help you begin exploring your heart, emotions, identity, healing, and spiritual growth at your own pace.
Sometimes the first step isn’t a giant leap.
Sometimes it’s simply picking up a pen and finally telling yourself the truth.
But Here’s What I Really Want You to Hear…
Woman of God…
Leader…
Pastor…
Entrepreneur…
Visionary…
Ministry leader…
You are more than what you produce.
You are more than your ministry.
You are more than your business.
You are more than your title.
You are more than the people you serve.
And you don’t have to destroy yourself trying to prove that you’re worthy of the calling God gave you.
You can lead and still rest.
You can serve and still have boundaries.
You can be powerful and still be tender.
You can love people and still choose yourself.
You can have faith and still need help.
And you can heal without being ashamed that you were hurting.
So let me leave you with one final question:
If everybody you’ve been leading could finally see the real woman behind the leadership, what would she need them to know?
And perhaps even more importantly…
What does SHE need from you?
Don’t rush past that question.
Sit with it.
Because your next level of leadership may not begin with doing more.
It may begin with taking better care of the woman who has been doing it all.
